Robert P. Caruso, M.D.

Dr. Caruso completed his General and Urologic Surgery training at New York University. He then completed a Clinical Fellowship in Robotic and Laparoscopic Urologic Surgery in San Antonio, Texas.

As a resident and fellowship physician he co-authored text book chapters on transperitoneal laparoscopic radical nephrectomy, lasers in urology, and published articles on robot-assisted surgery and prostate cancer.

A native of northern New Jersey, Dr. Caruso pursued his premedical studies at Montclair State College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then earned his M.D. from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in Newark where he graduated with honors (Alpha Omega Alpha) and won several awards at graduation.

Dr. Caruso has a particular interest in minimally invasive treatments for prostate and kidney cancer including laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgery and treatments for incontinence in both men and women. He is experienced in other state of the art therapies for cancer and benign diseases including cryoablation, radio frequency ablation, and various types of laser treatments.
